A rich, full wine with exquisite scents of red fruits and exotic spices. It is no wonder this is one of the most famous Vosne premier crus. Its velvety roundness makes it charming early on but its natural balance will also ensure good cellaring potential.

This and the Suchots are often Grivot's best Vosne 1ers and so it is again in 2011. There is a background touch of wood setting off the cool and admirably pure red and black pinot fruit that is bursting with an array of spices and wet stone. The minerality is very much a defining element of the firm, serious and restrained medium weight flavors that possess a silky mid-palate yet an explosively long, balanced and elegant finish. This is impressive and well worth a look. Score 91-93.
